Welding
Tony Williams
Tony Williams has instructed the Welding program at Bibb County Career Academy for eight years. He has 38 years of welding experience, having learned welding at the age of 18 on his first real job at Burkes Mechanical. Mr. Williams earned his BS in Education from Stillman College.
The Welding program at BCCA teaches students skills related to safety, terminology, blueprint reading, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, flux core arc welding, plasma arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding and plasma and carbon arc cutting. Mr. Williams states that while students gain welding knowledge, they will also develop a good work ethic.
The welding class contributes to the community by completing small repair work for businesses, churches and individuals in the surrounding area. One such project a class has completed in the past is a large grill and smoker for West Blocton High School.
