Business Information Technology

Kendel Johnson

Kendel Johnson has been instructing BCCA's students in the finer points of Business Information Technology (BIT) since 2007.  Her extensive industry experience in business and marketing along with her expertise as a certified Microsoft Office Specialist has benefitted her students who are interested in the business information world.

The Business Information Technology class covers a wide array of skills related to the world of computer technology.  Students in the BIT program continuously work toward improving their skills in the following areas:

-- PowerPoint

-- Word

-- Excel

-- Basic graphic design

-- Advertising

-- Marketing

-- Python Coding (a high level, general purpose programming language that can be used across many industry, educational and government platforms)

-- Introduction to CAD

-- Commercial Making

-- Creating New Product Labels and Packaging

-- Functions of business

-- Communication skills

Students are also able to earn credentials that will help them acquire jobs after they graduate.

Mrs. Johnson believes in helping the community when possible.  Her students assist local businesses and organizations with marketing and advertising tasks.  Past projects have included logo development and creating the t-shirt design for the annual Cahabe Lily Festival.  Students also serve Bibb County High School and West Blocton High School by helping with such tasks as developing theatre, pageant and banquet programs and designing various t-shirts, flyers and invitations.
